BPP Athletes Excel

In the All-India Parses Meet held at the University Stadium on 9th and 10th February both the Men and Women BPP Team emerged supreme. The Women's team won outright with 141 points, while the BPP Men's team tied for first place with a Poona combined team with 157 points.

BPP athletes won a total of 104 medals - 47 Gold (including relays), 35 Silver and 22 Bronze. More important 6 BPP athletes were crowned individual champions - Natasha General - Girls under 8 yrs; Menaz DaruwaIIa - Girls under 10 years; Binaisha Billimoria - Girls under 16 years; Hormazd Master - Boys under 10 years; Shahzeen Davar - Boys under 16 years; Jazee1 Limzerwala -Boys under 18 years. Two of our BPP athletes were outstanding performers - Jazeel Limzerwala in the Men's Division and Menaz Daruwalla in the Women's Division.

One State record was created in this meet and that too by a BPP athlete, Menaz Daruwalla in the Long Jump, Girls under 10 years. She jumped 3.78 metres, which was a new meet, Mumbai and Maharashtra State record. Meherzeen Sarfabadi of BPP also created a new meet record in the Girls under 14 years shot put event. She threw a record 7.75 mtrs.

Four athletes, Zenrookh Davar, Piroza Master, Hormazd Master and Menaz Daruwalla have been selected to represent Mumbai at the Junior State Meet. During the season 2 BPP athletes - Binaisha Billimoria and Firoz Mehta excelled at the State Championships and represented Maharashtra at the Junior Nationals at Agartala ..
