The Bombay Parsee Associaton's Prayer, Kusti Wea Ving& Spinning Competitions |

 The
BPA held its 88th Prayer, Kusti Weaving & Spinning competitions at the B.J.P.C.
Institute on February 17 when more than 300/- participants form the age of 3 years
to 80 years took part. The
competitions were sponsored by Mr. Shahrukh Kathawalla and prizes to be given
and the Nawaz Jimmy Kathawalla memorial prizes will be given at the next BPA Annual
Function. The participant in the prayer competitions where separate groups were
kept standardwise as well as for participants between the ages of 20 and 40 years
and above. Separate
groups were also kept for the two Madressa students and for non Madressa Navars
& Martabs. The Prayer & Kusti Spinning competitions participant were. given snacks
and chocolates whereas the Kusti Weaving competitions participants were given
tea, lunch and to and fro taxi fare. The
Prayer competitions were judge by eminent Athornan Sahebo and others. 
The
Kusti competitions were judge by Mrs. Dolly Desai from Navsari. A small function
was held after the competitions which started with Humbandgi by Dadar Athoman
Madressa students. Vispi Dastur, President, B.P.A. welcomed the Athornan Sahebo,
Chief Guest Mrs. Mahrukh Noble, Guest of Honour Advocate Azmin Irani, Dolly Desai
and other judges, religious teachers including Ratamai Peer and others. Floral
tributes were offered to the dignitaries, judges and other. Dolly Desai praised
the services rendered by the BPA its President Dastur and other office bearers
and sponsor Mr. Shahouk Kathawlla and gave details of the Kusti competition at
Navsari. Er.
Darius P. Bajan and Er.Yezdi N. Aibara spoke on the performance of the participant.

The function ended with the girls of Bai Avabai Petit School and others singing"
Chaiye Harne Zarthosti" and the National Anthem. President
