Message To The Parsi Community

I am very happy to know that the Parsi New Year is being celebrated
on 20th August, 2006.
The contribution of the Parsi Community to the building of modern
India is simply immeasurable. Members of this great community were
in the forefront of the nation's freedom struggle. It has given
the nation some of the finest lawyers, judges, educationists, scientists,
industrialists, scholars, philanthropists and leaders in other disciplines.
The nation owes so much to this small community of the Parsis. The
people of India have very high regards and admiration for the Parsi
community and it members.
On the joyous occasion of the Parsi New Year, I convey my choicest
greetings and good wishes to the members of the Parsi community
and wish them a very happy, peaceful and rewarding New Year. The
New Year's Day provides us an opportunity to reflect upon the message
of purity in thought, speech and deed given by Prophet Zoroaster.
Let us commit ourselves to the Prophet's immortal words on this
day.
